Hello, my name is Ms. Armenta, I was born in San Diego, but I grew up in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico with my mom, dad and three brothers.

I earned my bachelor’s degree at San Diego State University. I first taught in the Cajon Valley School District for three years. During that time, I taught in a bilingual setting, taught 2nd grade, and taught a combination 3rd/4th grade class. I moved to Los Angeles and I started teaching in a Catholic environment at St. Emydius School as a 3rd grade teacher. After two years, I moved back to San Diego and was hired at St. Jude Academy. While I taught at St. Jude’s, I obtained my master’s degree and was able to study abroad in Queretaro, Mexico for one summer. This experience became a life-changing adventure, as I was able to teach in a rural community and observe native teachers. I taught at St. Jude Academy for 10 years, in 4th and then 3rd grade. When St. Jude Academy closed, Our Lady’s School hired me as the 2nd grade teacher. I stayed at Our Lady’s for seven years.

I am so excited to be the Kindergarten teacher at St. Rita’s! This very important year promises to be one filled with discovery and joy as your child works and plays in an environment that is warm, safe and challenging. I’m eager to work with you to promote and enhance your child’s growth and development.
