Hi! I'm Ms. Peggy, and I'm thrilled to be joining the St. Rita's School family! I bring fifteen wonderful years of teaching art in both parochial and public schools, along with a lifetime of artistic passion and practice. Art isn't just what I teach, it is what fuels my soul. Creativity is a direct blessing from our Lord! My joy is to nurture in students a lifetime love of learning by cultivating their curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving superpowers. I grew up in sunny San Diego in a large, Catholic family (of which half of us went into the arts and half went into the sciences) and those roots shaped who I am today. I studied Art at San Diego State and received my BA and teaching credential in Art from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. I also hold a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego.  When I'm not in the art studio creating, you'll find me adventuring with my two amazing adult children, Heather and Alexander, hiking with my beloved dog Rosie, celebrating with my siblings and our ever-expanding family, reading and journaling, experimenting in the kitchen, and exploring around our beautiful country and the world.
